Why you should pick your nose… and eat it! Children indulge in picking their nose and… er… eating it. Yuck! Some adults do pick their nose, but eating it is definitely out of it. Or so we thought! However, a new has showed that when you pick your nose and eat it, the snot (that is the mucus) helps protect your teeth because of the healthy bacteria it contains. An assistant professor in the department of biological engineering at MIT, Katharina Ribbeck, says that snot could also help prevent infection. She also assures that there’s some evidence that the mucus in snot could fight off respiratory infections and stomach ulcers.
